How can we help?

How Can We Help?

More and more employers are focusing on best practice and equal opportunities for all.  If you are interested in recruiting or retaining someone dealing with or recovering from a mental health issue, such as depression, ESRA could help you.

We can offer:-

Recruitment
  • Free recruitment service.
  • Financial incentives e.g. for training.
  • Free work trial periods.
  • Continued support to ensure the employee reaches maximum potential.
  • Continued on site assessment to help identify training and development needs.
Retention

ESRA acts as a neutral third party, to help dialogue between employee and employer.  Often the employee finds it difficult to raise personal or work issues with their employer.  Similarly the employer may feel it intrusive to enquire too closely into Mental Health issues that may be an obstacle in returning to work.  ESRA will put forward objective views to be considered by both parties.  Support will include:

  • Advice on reasonable adjustments needed for client
  • Mentoring
  • Funding to implement a support mechanism for the client
  • Continued support to ensure the employee reaches maximum potential
  • Continued on site assessment to help identify training and development needs

Mental Health Awareness Training

  • Tailor made training for individual organisations
  • Covers information on various mental health conditions, symptoms and treatments
  • Aims to increase knowledge, thereby reducing stigma
  • Provides strategies for supporting people in the workplace
  • Mental Health First Aid – a 12 hour intensive course, usually delivered over 2 days, as part of a new national training programme developed and regulated by the National Institute for Mental Health in England (NIMHE) and England’s Care Services Improvement Partnerships (CSIP).  ESRA has a specialist MHFA trainer accredited to deliver the MHFA England course.  Successful candidates receive a course handbook and a CSIP certificate.  Please see www.mentalhealthfirstaid.csip.org.uk for further details.
